Here I am. Rock you like a hurricane.

Yes, I've been gone for quite some time - a little over a year now. Quite a bit has happened in that time. Here's a brief idea of what's gone on, so we can all get on with our lives.

I'm out of the piercing game now. Things were never going to work with Vince. I wasn't the greatest piercer out there. I will be the first to admit that. However, hearing how much I suck on a constant basis really doesn't help. Employers out there - negative reinforcement is NOT the way to go. Seriously.

I was also miserable in Florida. Completely and utterly miserable. I just couldn't stand the people anymore. If there was, in fact, intelligent life down there, I was never exposed to it. Sex, drugs, alcohol. These were the things that mattered to people. That, and possibly making the occasional child support payment. This was the culture, from what I saw. It had nothing to do with race, religion, socioeconomic status...this was just how life was, at least life as it was presented to me. It wasn't a life for me, so I high tailed it back to Jersey as soon as I had a chance.

I moved back here in February, and things were tough at first. I was without a vehicle until May, and I had no job until June. I'm actually happy at the moment, however. I work in a deli that does quite a bit of catering - primarily lunches for drug reps. I was hired as a delivery driver, and now I'm getting into the kitchen and making things happen. I want to do more there - I love the job, and I really need the hours. Until that happens, I picked up a second job. I also work in a shop that sells western wear. It's okay, except for the lovely collection of dead animals all over the walls. We have lots of taxidermy. It's creepy. My first day on the job, I went into the office to find a stuffed bear and three or four deer heads on the floor. Classy, I know.

Anyway, that works for me right now. I'm going to try to work on the blog on a more regular basis. I have stuff for tomorrow, once I edit some photos.
